The COVID-19 Diaries: Reflections from GI Endoscopy

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound effect on the personal and professional lives of those of us working in GI endoscopy. While history will record the broad social impact of the pandemic, there are countless personal stories that will never be heard and ultimately lost unless an effort is made to preserve them. Our goal is to create an archive of these stories by inviting our members and colleagues to share their experiences of coping with the isolation and numerous other changes imposed on our professional lives.

Invitation to Participate

You are invited to submit a short (up to 5 minutes), smart phone audio-video recording that requires minimal or no editing. We would like to hear about:
  • how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected you directly
  • how you have adapted to new work arrangements
  • how you feel about the various responses to the pandemic (without political rhetoric)
  • how you have responded to redeployment
  • how you foresee the next few weeks unfolding
  • how you think GI endoscopy may be changed by what has happened this year
To broaden the sharing experience, we’ll also consider submissions from your family members, staff and industry partners.
Please upload your recording to the NYSGE DropBox at:
Anyone can send a file, whether or not they have a Dropbox account.

Please name your file as follows:

Submissions will go through a brief review process and then be posted to the NYSGE website.

By submitting a recording, you agree to the posting of your submission to the NYSGE website and NYSGE derivative websites such as Vimeo. You acknowledge that there will be no remuneration for making a submission. In addition, there will be no compensation to any reviewer for time spent viewing the submissions.
