2020 Annual New York GI Fellows Endoscopy Course

Intended Audience
First, Second, Third and Fourth-Year Fellows in Gastroenterology

Course Description
This course is designed to increase knowledge, competence, and performance of advanced therapeutic endoscopy techniques among gastroenterology trainees. Information will be delivered through lectures, audience question and answers, and video presentation of procedural techniques. Best practices across a broad spectrum of therapeutic endoscopy will be presented by a faculty of distinguished interventional endoscopists.
 
Learning Objectives
  • Review the diagnostic techniques, management options, and complications associated with treatment of Barrett’s esophagus
  • Review the endoscopic approach to subepithelial lesions
  • Discuss the latest approach to endoscopic mucosal resection
  • Demonstrate various options for mucosal and full-thickness closure after resection, perforation and fistulas
  • Review techniques for managing acute upper and lower GI bleeding
  • Discuss endoscopic assessment and management of benign and malignant biliary strictures
  • Review techniques for EUS-guided tissue acquisition
  • Review alternatives to traditional PEG feeding tubes
  • Discuss the indications and techniques for the assessment of colonic strictures and stents
