Course Description
In this lecture Dr. Roy Soetikno will present the framework for recognizing malignant colon polyps and differentiating them from benign ones. Dr. Soetikno and Dr. Makoto Nishimura will present approaches aligned with learning sciences to optimize sharing of their knowledge specific to the course Learning Objectives.

Learning Objectives
  • Recognize the general appearance of the deep invasive colon polyps
  • Classify polyps using the Paris and the Pragmatic Lateral Spreading Tumor Classifications to guide their treatment
  • Determine most worrisome locations for deep submucosal invasion, which will be the focal points for enhanced endoscopy
  • Become familiar with the optimal treatment strategy for the different subtypes of malignant polyps
