Selective biliary cannulation can be challenging and, despite advances in accessories and techniques, can fail in 5-15 percent of cases. When biliary cannulation is not successful, alternatives such as EUS-guided biliary drainage will be discussed.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify instruments available for standard and adjunctive cannulation techniques
  • Describe precut cannulation methods
  • Discuss EUS-guided biliary drainage techniques
