Course Description
Clinical research about COVID-19 is crucial to furthering our understanding of how to treat patients with gastrointestinal diseases who contract COVID-19. The pandemic has impacted how gastroenterology is practiced and has necessitated refresher training for gastroenterologists who are deployed from GI units to medical units to care for COVID-19 patients or to support other areas of general medicine. This seminar will review and discuss emerging research in these and related areas.

Learning Objectives
  • Discuss emerging COVID-19 research projects with implications for patients with GI disease and COVID-19 comorbidity
  • Discuss emerging research showing the impact of COVID-19 on the practice of gastroenterology
  • Debate research protocols and methods with the research authors
